Spring Camp CFF Stock Report: March 6th
I have reviewed news from spring camps across the country and now look at how that news impacts player’s college fantasy football value. I then assign a generic positive/negative point score to the impact of the news affecting a player’s value. A history of weekly value updates will be tracked on the Purple Reign Big Boards at the bottom of the article to track how players are trending through spring camp.
STOCK RISING
QB Micah Alejado (Haw) +6.00: Alejado has been called the “unquestioned” QB1. He’s been observed as making quicker decision and getting the ball out of his hand faster.
QB Liam Szarka (AF) +2.50: With Quentin Hayes not currently with the team, Szarka has been splitting reps with the first team offense in spring camp.
QB Josh Johnson (AF) +2.50: With Quentin Hayes not currently with the team, Johnson has been splitting reps with the first team offense in spring camp.
WR Jordyn Tyson (AzSt) +2.00: After suffering a collarbone injury at the end of the 2024 season, Tyson has been cleared for full participation for spring camp.
QB Zeon Chriss (Hou) +1.00: Chriss’ shoulder injury is healing well and he is expected to be close to 100% for spring camp as he looks to secure the QB2 position.
QB Alonza Barnett (JMU) +0.50: Barnett injured his leg late in the 2024 season. It wasn’t expected that he would participate in spring camp but he has been cleared for limited participation.
STOCK FALLING
WR Steven McBride (Haw) -10.00: Sat out the 2024 season due to eligibility issues and is not currently listed on the spring camp roster. Best to consider him gone for good.
TE Arlis Boardingham (BGSU) -5.00: Head coach Scot Loeffler has left for the NFL and its unsure if either offensive coordinator Max Warner or Greg Nosal will be promoted. Losing this offensive system will hurt Boardingham’s fantasy value until we see what the offense the new head coach eventually puts in.
RB CJ Hester (UMass) -5.00: Hester is not currently listed on the UMass spring roster.
QB Quentin Hayes (AF) -5.00: Hayes is not participating in spring camp and its uncertain if he will return to the team in the fall. Hayes looked to be the likely QB1 before this news broke.
QB Jalon Daniels (Kan) -2.50: Daniels underwent a minor surgery on his knee and its unknown what his status will be for spring camp.
