Purple Reign has been around the block a time or two and learned a valuable lesson: follow the coaches. The heart and soul of College Fantasy Football is offensive production. There are head coaches and assistant coaches who have a special talent for putting up fantasy points in bunches. When you begin paying attention to these coaches you gain an edge over other fantasy players. I believe in this so much that I base my entire projection model after tracking statistics through coaching histories. The article below gives a detailed breakdown of how these coaching histories play into my projection process.
Today we will review data from my extensive historical database of coach’s statistics from 2018-2023 (the 2020 season has been omitted). I have reviewed fantasy production across all of this season’s head coaches and offensive coordinators to determine the top 25 best offensive systems for these fantasy categories:
Pass Offense
Run Offense
RB PPR Offense
TE Offense
There was a total of 70 different coaches that made these lists, with 25 of those coaches being named to more than one list. At the top of the mountain are 5 preeminent offensive minds that were listed on three of the four lists.
Those coaches are:
Kalen DeBoer – Alabama
Bodie Reeder – Middle Tennessee State
Dan Lanning – Oregon
Collin Klein – Texas A&M
Lincoln Riley – USC
In the coaching systems breakdown I provide career average fantasy points scored and season stats for players that correspond to these lists.
